St. Vincent de Paul – Archdiocese of Santa Fe Announces

Appointment of First Executive Director

ALBUQUERQUE, NM — The St. Vincent de Paul Archdiocesan Council of Santa Fe (SVdP- ASF) proudly announces the appointment of Jared Weatherholtz as its first Executive Director, effective August 18, 2025. Weatherholtz, an accomplished nonprofit leader with over 13 years of experience serving marginalized communities, will lead SVdP-ASF into an exciting new era of growth, visibility, and mission impact.

The creation of the Executive Director role marks a significant milestone for the Council, which has been guided by a team of deeply committed volunteer leaders. Don Kany, National Vice President of St. Vincent de Paul’s Mountain Region stated, “This is an exciting chapter for SVdP-ASF.  The commitment and leadership of Linda Strasburg, Dawn Miller, and Larry Gonzales over the past years, and their hard work to improve our services, exemplify the Vincentian spirit.  With Jared Weatherholtz now at the helm as Executive Director, I am confident we will see unprecedented growth in both our capacity to serve and the hope we bring to our neighbors in need.”

Weatherholtz joins SVdP-ASF from Catholic Charities in the Archdiocese of Santa Fe, where he most recently served as Chief Program Officer, overseeing six service centers, managing an $8 million budget, and securing multi-million-dollar grants and donations, including playing a supporting role in securing a $5 million award from the Jeff Bezos Day One Foundation.  Bilingual (Spanish & English), his career has been defined by direct service to underserved communities, program development, strategic fundraising, and building collaborative partnerships across New Mexico.

Reflecting on his appointment, Weatherholtz stated, "I'm honored to step into this special organization as the first Executive Director of SVdP-ASF. I first got to know the work of SVdP as an advocate working with the immigrant community in St. Louis. It was clear to me that the support was personal, dignifying, and effective to meet concrete needs. The mission of SVdP is close to my heart, and I look forward to partnering with all of the Vincentians, Conferences, and team members of the organization to continue to provide crucial and compassionate support to those most marginalized and oppressed in our communities."

Linda Strasburg, Council Board President, shared her enthusiasm for the new chapter ahead.

“We are thrilled to have Jared share his expertise with us as we go forward in our work with our neighbors in need.”
